Couldn't stay away...
Because so many of you are enjoying the blog, I couldn't just leave you hanging until the weekend. Here's a few albums that I've enjoyed and hope that you all will too. Hopefully this will settle your fix (***lol***) until I come back again this weekend. I took Public Annoucement down because I was having a hard time uploading it, but it'll be up this weekend hopefully. Before I forget, if you love gospel music, then check out The Gospel Fill-Up (the link is located in the link section, it's a new site but has alot to offer.
Also, I've reupped the Chante Moore and Tevin Campbell and I'll be reupping Immature shortly. Thanks again for all the love shown so far and if you'd like to share any one of your old school albums, then please feel free to upload them and send them to me. Enjoy and get taken back!
P.S.
Some requests...(if you have these please send them to me and I'll upload and give you the credit)
1. Sean is looking for the album "Countess" by Countess Vaughn
2. Toya is looking for any albums by Blackgirl
3. Also 2 visitors are looking for the following albums: En Vogue's "Funky Divas" and Subway's "Good Times"
Thanks!
Throwbacks of the 90's
Playa
I wasn't that fond of Playa when they came out, I couldn't stand "Cheers To You". But now, since I've listened to them, they're okay. They have good vocals, and hot beats by Timbaland, but I want them to come out with a follow up cd, that could top this one. But then again they'd probably wouldn't have that much success, look at fellow boy bands who've tried to make it nowadays, Boyz II Men, Hi-Five, Public Annoucement, do I really need to go on?
Sidenote: Boogie Tonight has informed me that one of the members from Playa has a solo album coming out, to listen or to get more info, check out his site.

I kind of remember the movie, but remember Tevin Campbell's song the most, "Round and Round" which is featured on this soundtrack.
Throwback of the 80's:
Vanity 6
Vanity 6 (1982)
I know I was only 2 years old when this group came out, but growing up in the early 80's, I heard "Nasty Girl" all the time (of course now I know what that song was saying) . Vanity 6, was a group Prince helped put together, but the stand out member was Vanity. Remember her as Taimak's love interest and the host of that dance show in "Berry Gordy's Last Dragon"? Of course this album has that classic 80's sound and Prince's touch, but I just can't get enough of "Nasty Girl" (FYI...no, I'm not that type of girl, I'm sugar and spice and everything nice...so I've been told...but I just really like that song).
By the way, am I the only one who thinks The Pussycat Dolls are very similar to Vanity 6? When Pussycat Dolls came out with "Don't Cha", I thought what a rip off of Vanity 6, but I guess everything old is new again.
3 Comments:
So sorry 4 responding so late. I'll reup the album 4 ya. MusicMatch sucks big time...won't rip the songs all the way (which is what happened here), won't brun my cds all the way. Be on the look out for it though. I don't have their other song "Vibrator", sorry.

Oh man, I had no idea you had this on your blog already. Don't want you thinking I stole this from your spot, I totally didn't!
However I'm loving this album, and like yoursef, I think PCD is a little bit like Vanity 6, but V6 was wayyyy freakier and more "raw" than they could hope to be. They're too Poppish.

Come on, I don't think that all. I'm not even fazed by it. I like this album too, but I like anything that Prince works with, he's a music genius to me. The ultimate concert would include him, Micheal Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Madonna altogether! I really enjoy all four in terms of 80's and 90's music because they set the standards in music in those decades that so many tried get to.
By the way, keep doing what you're doing, I like your site and you, you seem to be a cool person so don't let anyone attempt to take that coolness from you sweetie.
