Just a taste of more to come...

I'm glad you all are loving the site so far; however this will be my last post until this weekend. I have a test coming up that I need to prepare for, but expect more to come soon!

Throwbacks of the 90's

Zhane
Pronounced Jah-Nay (1993)

Before there was Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, there was Zhane. They reminded me somewhat of the stylings of Anita Baker, but with a new kind of sound though that appealed to me. I loved every track on here...still one of the cds I keep in my player. You know how you can tell that some songs were part of that era (i.e. New Jack Swing sound, 80's techo sound), well their debut album to me stands the test of time. Each track is timeless and just flows. It's one of those albums that just relaxes you.

Tisha Campbell
Tisha (1993)

(thanks Sean for re-upping this)

Yes, Tisha came out with an album...remember her single, "Push"..."push, you've got to push it 'til you get it right" (she sang it on an episode of Martin)? She's a talented singer and the album's decent for what it's worth, it just should have been marketed better than what it was.

Jade
Jade To The Max (1992)

This was one of my favorite albums back them, Great debut album in my opinion. Loved "Don't Walk Away" and their rendition of The Emotion's "Don't Ask My Neighbors".

Voices
Just The Beginning...(1992)

Many probably don't remember this group, but they were a one hit wonder with "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah", which was my song way back when I was in middle school! I know it may sound so corny, but I related to the song at the time because I was so in "love" with this one dude...another story for another day...lol, but enjoy this oldie!

Actually this album has their hits from the late 70's and early 80's. I really liked them, but I liked Jody Watley the best because when the group broke up, she was more sucessful as a solo artist than her other bandmates were. You know what, be on the lookout for a few albums by Ms. Watley soon. (if there's a track missing let me know).

Here we go...

I love almost every genre of music but I just love R&B music from the 1980's-1990's (it's falls right after gospel, jazz, and neo-soul) . I guess I love this music from that era because I was born in 1980 and grew up in that era, and when I hear those songs, they bring back memories of times when I was growing up. At the same time, it kind of makes me feel old because I feel like my parents when they would say that song was from my day, I remember we did this dance to it, lol!!! So for those that are ready to go back, alright, here we go...throwing it all the way back to the 80's and 90's...
